Description

NTtv is a man-wearable Embedded Linux device that can encode and stream video over a wireless mesh to other NTtv boxes. The video can be viewed using the NTtv Android application via an Android device or from any device on the network that can view RTSP video streams.

Technical Details

The NTtv box consisted of an i.MX6 Quad processor running a custom Buildroot Linux image. The video input was encoded using the i.MX6 hardware encoder as part of a gstreamer pipeline. The box has two PCIe ports that hold one WiFi card for the WiFi mesh and another card that can be used for a WiFi host to provide a local network for viewing devices or a cellular card for streaming the meshes video streams over cellular.

After difficulties using SD cards for storing the RootFS, we moved to using an eMMC.

NTtv has an exposed USB port for expanding the storage or offloading videos. There is an ethernet port that can be used to add connectivity.
